What are The Zhu Zhu Pets?

“Zhu Zhu Pets are Anticipated to be the Newest Craze Among Kids and the Most Popular Toy of the Year!”

Hi, I’m Tim (aka Hamster Dad!) .You’ve probably seen the TV ads and wondering what is all the fuss about these hamsters called Zhu Zhu Pets?

The reason why the Zhu Zhu Pets are so popular amongst kids is the fact that zhu zhu pets are not just toy hamsters but they are actually the worlds first interactive plush toy hamster.

Well to be honest one can’t help but love these artificially smart hamster pets called Zhu Zhu Pets. I love hamsters, I grew up having several pet hamsters and now I’m a dad of two lovable bundles of joy-a 4 year old girl and toddler baby boy! but I am a little sceptical getting the kids pets, especially since I have quite a few not so fond memories of hamster bites.

Don’t get me wrong, i agree that nothing can substitute the joy of a real live pet, but I don’t think a four year old is responsible enough to care for a real pet.

This why I have been overjoyed since coming across the Zhu Zhu Pets.I’ve been smitten and want to share my find with other parents out there too! who want to give their child a pet but are concerned about the responsibility involved in caring for a pet.

Who Are The Zhu Zhu Pets?

    • The Zhu Zhu Pets aka Go Go Pets currently feature  5 different toy hamster pets

  • Numnums is the zhu zhu pet who loves food.

  • Chunk is the laid back zhu zhu pet.

  • Patches is the fifth zhu zhu pet who loves flowers, perhaps Patches is out smelling the roses, since we havent really seen much of her. Patches is not available individually for sale but is available in the Hamster Starter Set.

Here’s Why I Love The Zhu Zhu Pets

Although a real life hamster may cost you less, here’s what I love most about The Zhu Zhu Pets;

The Zhu Zhu Pets have artificial intelligence which is the key factor which sets them apart from most plush toys on the market. The Zhu Zhu Pets have a code reader which allows them to react to specific actions within their zhu zhu pets hamster fun house sold separately.

zhu zhu pets articifical intelligence

ZHU ZHU PETS HAVE A CODE READER WHICH SENSES THEIR SURROUNDINGS

This artificial intelligence also allows the Zhu Zhu Pets to interact with specific accessories in their hamster Funhouse. For example, The Zhu Zhu Pets can zip around in their Zhu Zhu mobile, and even make talking sounds. They make toilet flushing sounds when they are in the bathroom. Simply adorable!

The zhu zhu pets also operate on two modes, the loving mode and the explore mode. The Loving Mode which allows kids to Pet them, love them, then hear them squeak and chatter back. TheExplore Mode lets them scoot, scamper, bump & boogie across the floor or through their Hamster Habitat. This is sure to get the kids excited as the Zhu Zhu pets scamper around in their Zhu Zhu Accessories.

ZHU ZHU PETS HAVE TWO MODES-LOVE MODE & EXPLORE MODE

Do take note due to the sensitivity of this code reader Zhu Zhu Pets should also be handled with care. The code reader only reacts to responses in the hamster funhouse. The zhu zhu pets also work best on hard, solid surfaces so don’t be too dissappointed if your zhu zhu pet seems  slow on  soft surfaces like carpets since they are not suited to this material. Be sure to read your zhu zhu pets easy to read illustrated instruction guide to learn more about how your zhu zhu pet can work best.

these zhu zhu pets are so cute! my kids are so excited, ca’t wait for them to come in the mail!

  2. Sandy

What do you think? I think it\’s just wrong that you are selling these Zhu Zhu Pets at such a high price. I would have bought so much from you if you would have had them at a decent price! If you really want my business, you will sell them to me at the same price I can get them at a local store. I will just wait for them to come in to the stores here.

  3. Cheri

What do you think? I think you should be ashamed of yourself and I want to know exactly how you sleep at night. Since you have children of your own you should know how kids feel about wanting a toy. It is ridiculous that adults like yourself take advantage of the dreams of children. I won’t be buying your over priced toy and frankly hope you get stuck with the them. Unfortunately, many children will not receive toys like this because of people like you, not because I can’t afford your outrageous price but because it would be morley wrong to support such price gouging! Now you know what I think~

Cheri and Sandy-smarthamsterpets.com has no control of the prices of the toys. All we do is bring you the information on the product and the places you can buy them online. All prices are determined by the relevant sellers and not smarthamsterpets.com.

  5. Rachel

I agree with everyone else, I thought I was missing something when I saw the prices here. It seems to me if the consumer is buying from your website, you should have some control over the price or just not refer them to businesses who are taking advantage of them. I am amazed you have any business.

  6. Jim

It\’s called supply and demand. We live in a capitalist society. More people want the pets than there are pets to go around. It\’s not rocket science that the price is going to go up. People are obviously willing to pay higher than retail prices for them because if no one did, the prices wouldn\’t go up. Stop whining about people \’ripping you off\’ and deal with the fact that you are going to pay more for popular toys that are hard to find. If you don\’t want to pay the inflated price then don\’t buy them, its as simple as that. Grow up.

  7. Paul

I agree with Jim, he took the words out of my mouth (except for the standoffishness). Anyhow, as supply goes down, demand goes us. Look at the collector car market. Less cars, more people = higher prices… especially as the years go by. If you wait a few months, prices will go down, but if you want them for Chrstmas (and who doesn\’t???), then you will have to pay a higher price. I was lucky myself and found some in stores way before the hype. Once news got out about them, I found an online retailer called GetZhuZhu and bought some for cheap there. Now, no where you go, can you find them for less than $30 or 40 (maybe more) a pop. Fact. If you manage to find them in stores, you probably waited in the cold overnight and fought off a barage of middle aged woman and money hungry snobs for them. Real fun. But I digress…. I\’ll end with this: If you want them, buy them sooner rather than later because if you wait, the prices will only go higher. If you don\’t like prices as they are now, then buy something else. -Paul K.

  8. Jessica

I think this is just another fad toy that will go out of style in 6 months or less, much like the furby. And like the furby, it IS way overpriced. I also think that if you are a third party and not the seller, then your website needs to clearly reflect that, and not be a link offering free shipping. That makes it appear to be YOUR product and therefore YOUR prices. Also I see the code reader is sensitive? How sensitive? Four year olds cannot care for real, live hampsters on their own but I certainly don\’t hand them fragile technological devices either! Who wants to bet these zhu zhus won\’t last their first bath?

  9. ellen

Regardless of what you say, you ALLOW these prices to be listed…I hope that all of these greedy jerks get stuck with these when they don\’t sell at these stupid stupid stupid prices…i will use this as a learning lesson for my children..i will explain to what extent nasty people will go to earn a buck and i will then take my children, after christmas, to purchase these at the pre-hysteria prices…so, THANKS for giving me the opportunity to open the eyes of my children to this crap…

  10. ellen

Jim….good for you for being so “intelligent”…now, go and buy these things and pay as MUCH for them as you CAN….hurry now…hurry hurry hurry…this will encourage this kind of practice to be successful…
wake up Jim…there are parents out there with children who wish and wish and wish that santa will bring them a hamster…and, those parents simply do not have the money to buy them at these hateful prices…
but, don’t feel sorry for those chldren, jimbo, just sit smugly and enjoy your “adult” view while the rest of us “children” refuse to accept such injustice…have a great christmas…

  11. Traci

I am sorry, but I think I have to agree with Jim. The whole “supply and demand” argument works… but don’t play the “kid” card with it! If you were lucky enough to find them at their original price of $8 each then good for you! Charging $45 each now is TERRIBLE! Why would anyone pay that! I love my kids as much as anyone, but teaching them to buy something for 5 times what they are obviously worth (or they would have sold them for $45 in the first place) is a buch better lesson. Just like Elmo… my children will get these when they are back to being sold for a realistic price. I will spend my money on other things that are WORTH what I have to spend!

  12. pam p

    What do you think?

  13. Danny

I think there should be a law that would not allow such a practice to go on. You people buy them all out when they come to a store and do not allow the average child to get one. I would never buy anything on your site. How could you charge 3 and 4 time as much. Walmart is selling them for 8 bucks.
